Sam Leighton-Smith

Sam Leighton-Smith

Sam is a founding partner and current Director of Compass Associates, Compass Executives and Compass Corporate Services.

Sam is responsible for group financial performance, growth strategy and business generation. He oversees the Specialist Services Division in Compass Associates in tandem with Compass Executives, a search and selection firm operating out of London.

Sam specialises in board level appointments that add long term value to organisations and regularly acts in an advisory capacity to our closest clients in relation to succession planning, industry trends and salary benchmarking.

Sam holds a Law and Politics degree BA (Hons), LLB from the University of Kent as well as additional qualifications in the practice of recruitment. In his spare time Sam enjoys all sports, travelling and has an active interest in current political and economic events.

Mike Jeffreys

Mike Jeffreys

Mike is a founding partner and current Director of Compass Associates, Compass Executives and Compass Corporate Services, he heads up the Care Home Division within Compass Associates and assumes responsibility for all things IT related across the group. Mike is also responsible for the operational direction across the group.

CertRP qualified under the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), Mike has many years experience working within the Recruitment industry and an in-depth knowledge of the Health Care sector.

During his spare time, his interests include rugby (Mike represented England schoolboys at regional level), golf, travel and cooking.

Chris Russell

Chris Russell

Chris is a founding partner and current Director of Compass Associates, Compass Executives and Compass Corporate Services. Chris has established two of the four Divisions within Compass Associates and currently heads up the General Healthcare Division. He is also responsible for staff training and development.

Chris holds a degree within Criminology BA (Hons) and is qualified and accredited under the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). He has over 10 years of experience specifically within Health Care recruitment and has an expert knowledge of the industry.

Chris is also an avid rugby fan and has a particular interest in travel and current affairs.

Kathryn Fairbrother

Kathryn Fairbrother

Kathryn is Director of HR & Communications and is responsible for HR, Communications and Business Support across the Compass Holding Group's businesses: Compass Associates, Compass Executives and Compass Corporate Services.

A senior marketing professional with 16 years' experience at IBM, one of the largest technology and consulting organisations in the world, Kathryn held positions varying from communications and project management through to lead generation and channel marketing, both at EMEA level and in the UK, before joining Compass Associates in 2013.

Kathryn is a Fellow of the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing), an Associate member of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and a certified Member of the IRP (Institute of Recruitment Professionals). She has also recently completed a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree with the Open University. Kathryn enjoys sunshine holidays, cooking and eating out, and is passionate about music.

Dave Langford

Dave Langford

Dave is Director of Specialist Services & Group Information, providing senior leadership to the Specialist Services division and responsibility for the Compass Holding Group's financial analytics.

Dave has been with Compass Associates since 2011 and has spent over 9 years in the recruitment industry, previously working in the Procurement & Supply Chain Market after completing a BA (Hons) degree in Human Resource Management.

Dave is a keen Leeds United supporter and enjoys holidaying in Italy.

Luke Osborne

Luke Osborne

Luke is the Group Development Director for CHG and focusses on the development of new and existing clients, new services lines, staff training and ensuring that clients are provided with the best solutions for their needs across all 3 service offerings. He leads on tendering, major accounts and client success.

Luke also works in our Compass Executives offering and is an executive search specialist focussing on C-level & Director appointments across the independent health and social care sector (Private / NFP's / VC's and PE Houses) and Partner & Director appointments within healthcare advisory services.

Luke graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and outside of work enjoys playing rugby (15's / 7's), is a fan of most sports and enjoys skiing in the winter.

Ben Westcott

Ben Westcott

Ben is the Group Projects Director for CHG and leads on new strategic initiatives for the group. These initiatives focus on strengthening our existing offering and building broader capabilities to extend the services we can offer to clients.

Additionally, Ben works in our Compass Executives offering, where his expertise spans a wide spectrum of private health and social care markets. Predominantly partnering businesses with ownership models ranging from personal wealth, Private Equity, REITs and Infrastructure Funds, Ben has an outstanding track record of delivering Board-level talent.

Ben graduated with a First Class Honours Degree from Nottingham Trent University, and is a keen Sunderland FC fan.
